A One-pot Microwave Irradiation Synthesis of Pyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles

Abstract

Synthesis of a series of pyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles (4a-j) was achieved from different acetoacetamides, 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and 2-Aminobenzimedazole using microwave irradiation within 50 minutes with high yield. The structures of the products were supported by FTIR, PMR and mass spectral data.
