Abstract

Benzothiazole, a multifaceted nucleus, has been under research for the last two decades. Being a heterocyclic compound, benzothiazole finds use in research as a starting material for the synthesis of larger, usually bioactive structures. As a part of systematic investigations several new derivatives of 2-aminobenzothiazols 5a-e have been prepared. The structure elucidation of these compounds was completed by means of chemical tests, elemental (C, H, N and S) and spectral (IR, 1H NMR and mass) analysis.

Keywords

2-aminobenzothiazole, benzamides, benzoyl isothiocyanate
