Abstract

A series of novel benzothiazole fused with thiazolidine derivatives were synthesized and analyzed. Substituted aniline was reacted with bromine, potassium thiocynate in the presence of glacial acetic acid to give substituted benzothiazole. Substituted benzothiazole was further reacted with chloroacetyle chloride and cyclized with potassium thiocynate to give benzothiazole fused thiazolidine system. This fused ring were derivatised by different aldehydes which were characterized by MASS, IR and 1H and 13CNMR.
